The Dragon - "GILLIAM"
Noreen Seabrook, since it’s inception in 1995, has stayed true to weaving all of our rugs the Traditional Tibetan way… to pay homage to our Tibetan partners and showcase original Tibetan design we thought we’d re-introduce The Dragon in 4 different colorways.
“The Dragon - DRUK - is a benevolent, helpful, helpful, life-giving creature composed of nine salient features of other animals: (a) horn like a stag, (b) forehead like a camel, (c) eyes like a demon, (d) neck like a snake, (e) belly like a sea monster, (f) scales like a carp, (g) claws like an eagle, (h) paws like the tiger, and (i) ears like an ox. In addition, he has a bump on his forehead, without which it cannot ascend into the heavens. It is the symbol of the Emperor and the male principle (yang). “

Tibetan wool is found 14,000 feet above sea level in the Himalayas and natural highlands. Farmed by Nepalese and Tibetan nomadic communities, the wool is from Changpel sheep, which grow long, tensile strong fibers with lots of lanolin. Lanolin is a waxy substance that is naturally produced by sheep to protect them from the subzero temperatures of their natural environment. It covers the fibers from root to tip and is moisturizing to both the wool and skin of the animal. Lanolin, alongside covetable fibre properties, is what gives Himalayan sheep' wool its reputation for being one of the softest, most durable and luxurious wool on the planet.
